I had to switch it up a bit today. I am visiting my sister and she does not have weights to do the lifting or a spot for pull ups. Taking a P90X break for a few days and mixing in a few Insanity workouts.
I got my sister and her husband hooked on Insanity last year when they were visiting me. Now it’s their turn to get me hooked once again. My sister didn’t take it easy on me either! She tossed in Pure Cardio and we followed it up with Cardio Abs!
You know you are working out hard when the warm up kills you! By the end of the warm up, I was dripping with sweat and gasping for breath. The 10 minute warm up is followed by a few minutes of stretching and then the good stuff. 15 drills, each 1 minute. I can’t remember all of the exercises, but towards the end you have suicide drills (stand up, do a push up, stand up, jump, repeat) and jack push upsĀ (every time you go down for the push ups, you do a jumping jack motion with the legs)! I followed my jack push ups up with looking for my breath! I lost it somewhere and found after a few minutes of lying face down in the carpet.
If that wasn’t enough, my sister felt we needed the Ab workout due to the lemon sweet rolls and amount of bacon consumed at breakfast. Ugh!!! I couldn’t say no. I was the one who got her hooked on these workouts after all.
She tossed it in and within minutes my abs were screaming for me to stop! Such a crazy ab workout considering there isn’t a single crunch in the routine. I struggled, but managed to keep up (for the most part). I sure was glad when it was over though.
Apparently tomorrow we are doing a max interval cardio! YAY! UGH! OK, FINE I WILL DO IT!
