Month 1 is done! 4 weeks of P90X are now complete only 9 more to go!!!!!! I have some mixed emotions about the results. The numbers look decent and the pics look ok, but honestly I think I could have done better. I am not going to fret about it though. I am looking forward and going to tweak my nutrition a bit and add in some extra cardio in the early am. I am hoping the extra cardio will tap into the fat reserves and prime the metabolism for the day. I have done some research and have found some mixed reviews on the topic, but the overwhelming majority is for early am cardio. I am working on writing up a summary of my research this weekend.
Back to the progress, I’ve lost a total of 8.5 lbs while gaining about 2 lbs of muscle mass. The muscle mass is a best guesstimate as the body fat monitor can vary due to water weight, body temperature, it’s mood (seriously this thing has an attitude.) I took the reading several times today and it fluctuated a bit but the mean reading was 24.8% body fat! That number makes me smile!
Here is this week’s progress chart:
I have some before and month 1 pics. This is where I am not happy. I was hoping to see some more improvements. The belly is shrinking a little; I trimmed about an inch off my waist. My man boobs are getting smaller; I also trimmed about an inch off the chest. I can see a little more definition in the arms, in which I gained about a half an inch on each bicep. The legs, aka tree trunks, grew a bit as well by about a half an inch. I should be happy; I am trimming down in the important areas and building up in the right areas. I would really like to SEE the difference in the pics though.
Two areas in which I have seen the most improvements in tone and definition are the calf muscles and the shoulders! I am starting to rock some sexiness in these 2 spots! I guess the lunges are really paying off! Yay for LUNGES! (If you could see my face right now, it is very apparent that I am bursting with sarcastic snarkyness when I say that)
Looking at the pics I suppose I can’t really be all that dissappointed with the results. It really only has been 4 weeks after all. It will be interesting to see where I end up after the 90 days.

I am struggling to get through the first 2 weeks solid! I start and get to Friday and then "something" comes up and I say I'll restart on Monday which turns into next Monday. Hearing you get up to week 4 gives me a little boost to get back in the game. I just get stuck and need a good kick to get me through that moment and 'keep' going. Any suggestions? Thanks!
